Support
Have a question or issue with BoulderMaps? Find answers to the most common questions below, grouped by topic. If you cannot find what you are looking for, feel free to write to us directly.
Account & access
How do I create an account?
Open the app and tap "Sign in". You can create your account with your email (you will receive a magic sign-in link) or continue with your Google or Apple account. Once signed in, your profile syncs automatically across devices.
How does signing in with a magic link work?
Enter your email and we will send you a one-time sign-in link. Open the email on your device and tap the link to sign in — there is no password to remember. The link expires after a few minutes, so use it soon after requesting it.
The magic link email did not arrive. What can I do?
Check your spam and promotions folders and make sure you typed your email correctly. Wait a minute and request a new link if needed; since they expire quickly, always use the most recent one. If it still does not arrive, write to us at info@sieteamas.com.
Can I use the same account on more than one device?
Yes. Sign in with the same method (email, Google or Apple) on each device and your boulders, ascents and notes sync automatically. The first sync on a new device needs an internet connection.
How do I delete my account and data?
You can delete your account from the app under Profile > Settings > Delete account; it permanently removes your profile, ascents and ticks (if you have PRO, cancel the subscription in the store first). You can also request it by writing to info@sieteamas.com or via the link at the bottom of this page.
Finding climbs
How do I use the interactive map?
The map shows every boulder geolocated to the metre. Pan and zoom to explore, tap a marker to open the boulder, and use the filters to narrow down what you see.
How do I filter boulders by area, grade or style?
Open the filters from the map or list and choose the area, grade range or style you are after. The map and list update to show only matching boulders.
How are areas, sectors and boulders organised?
Each climbing area is split into zones, zones into sectors, and sectors contain the individual boulders. You can browse top-down — pick a zone, then a sector, then a boulder — or jump straight to a boulder from the map or search.
Where do I find topos, lines and beta?
Open any boulder to see its detail page with topos, marked lines, photos and beta notes shared by the community, so you know what is waiting before you touch the rock.
How do I find parking and the approach?
Each sector shows its parking spot and the approach to the boulders, so you park where you should and walk in without wandering around. Download the area beforehand to have this offline (PRO).
I cannot find a boulder or area. What can I do?
Try searching by name and check that no filter is hiding it. If the boulder is not in BoulderMaps yet, you can add it yourself — see the community section below.
Logging & progress
How do I log an ascent?
Open the boulder you climbed and tap "Log ascent". Choose the style — onsight, flash or redpoint (project if you are still working it) — and add notes if you like. It logs one-handed and appears in your history.
Can I edit or delete an ascent I logged?
Yes. Open the ascent from the boulder or from your history and edit its style, date or notes, or delete it entirely.
Where do I see my tick list and history?
Your profile keeps your full ascent history and tick list, which follows you to the crag and works offline once the area is downloaded.
What do the stats (grade pyramid, streaks, volume) mean?
Your profile shows your grade pyramid (how many ascents at each grade), your streaks and your overall climbing volume, so you see real progression rather than just your last send.
What is the session diary on a boulder?
With PRO, every boulder has a private session diary where you log each session — conditions, attempts, how it felt and notes — over time. You open it from the boulder screen and only you can see it, perfect for tracking a long-term project.
Offline & PRO
What does BoulderMaps PRO include?
PRO unlocks the trip planner, offline mode and the per-boulder session diary: download whole areas (map, topos, parking and approaches), plan trips and keep a private log of every session. More PRO features are on the way.
How do I download an area for offline use?
With PRO, open the area or sector and choose to download it. The map tiles, topos, parking and approaches are saved to your device for use without signal.
What works without a signal?
Once an area is downloaded you can browse boulders, view topos and beta, navigate the map, find parking and approaches, and log ascents — all offline.
How do offline ascents sync?
Ascents and notes you log offline are stored on your device and upload automatically the next time you are online. You do not need to do anything.
How do I manage downloaded areas and free up storage?
From the downloads section you can see which areas are downloaded and remove the ones you no longer need to free up space.
How do I subscribe, restore or cancel PRO?
Subscribe to PRO from within the app. Purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play — use "Restore purchases" if you reinstall or switch devices, and manage or cancel the subscription from your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Trip planning (PRO)
How do I create a trip plan?
With PRO, open the trip planner and create a new trip. Give it dates and start adding the zones and boulders you want to climb.
How do I add boulders, zones and days to a trip?
From a boulder, sector or zone, add it to a trip; in the planner you can organise everything by day and turn a long weekend or a month-long trip into a clear tick list.
Can I reorder my objectives?
Yes. Within a trip you can reorder boulders and days so the plan matches how you want to climb.
Community & data quality
How do I add a new boulder?
If a boulder is not in BoulderMaps yet, use the add-boulder option to place it on the map and fill in its name, grade and photos. It becomes available to the whole community.
How do I correct a boulder's name, grade or other details?
Those details can't be edited inside the app. If you spot a mistake in a boulder's name, grade or other information, write to us at info@sieteamas.com with the boulder and the correction, and we'll update it.
How do I add photos to a boulder?
You add photos when you create a boulder: a main photo plus up to three extra shots, each with its beta line drawn. That way the topos help everyone climb it.
A boulder is in the wrong place. How do I report it?
From the boulder screen you can contribute its location: the app uses your GPS position (or you place the pin manually) to verify or correct where it is. That's the way to improve a boulder's location from within the app.
Notifications
What notifications will I get?
We notify you when someone comments on your beta, when your boulder is confirmed, and when there is news in the areas you follow.
How do I turn notifications on or off?
Set up BoulderMaps notifications in the app under Profile > Settings > Notifications, where you choose which alerts to receive (push, email, weekly digest). Your device will also ask for push-notification permission.
Troubleshooting & support
My data is not syncing between devices
Make sure you are online and signed in with the same method on both devices. If it persists, sign out, sign back in and wait a few seconds. If it still does not work, write to us at info@sieteamas.com.
The app crashes or will not open
Make sure you are on the latest version from the App Store or Google Play and restart the app. If it keeps happening, reinstall it (your data is safe in your account) or write to us with your device model.
The map tiles will not load
Map tiles need a connection the first time. Check you are online or download the area in advance with PRO. If tiles still will not load, restart the app.
How do I report a bug?
Open the support form from Profile > Settings > Help Center and send us a description of the problem; add a screenshot if you can. You can also write to info@sieteamas.com. We read every message.
Which devices and languages are supported?
BoulderMaps runs on iPhone (iOS) and Android phones, and is available in Spanish, English, Portuguese, French and German.
How do I contact the team?
Write to us at info@sieteamas.com — for anything we have not covered here, we are happy to help.
